Bird deterrent laser system
CNI Network Solutions Ltd, based in County Monaghan, specialises in providing comprehensive data network infrastructure and high-resolution video recording solutions, primarily for the food and manufacturing industries.
The company sought to manufacture an updated version of an existing bird deterrent laser system. The goal was to merge the separate laser unit and camera unit into a single, unified housing. Beyond functional integration, the project required a new, modern, and aesthetically pleasing design that would be suitable for commercial deployment and appeal to customers.
Bespoke housing
Through an Innovation Voucher, CREDIT Technology Gateway worked with CNI Network Solutions to design a bespoke housing. The team developed a complete enclosure solution comprising a front and back cover, an internal sliding plate for component mounting, and a protective shield. The design incorporates two precision round glass openings in the front cover to allow the laser and camera to operate without obstruction.
The back cover was carefully designed to facilitate the necessary cable connections. To address environmental durability, an integrated shield was added to protect against the elements, and the entire housing features a curved profile to prevent water accumulation. Furthermore, the housing was engineered to support both horizontal and vertical orientations, allowing for flexible deployment on a standard pan-tilt mount.
