The Nimbus Gateway, based in MTU Cork, is the industry interface for the Nimbus group. The Gateway develops Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber Physical System prototypes for a broad range of companies, connecting everyday objects and systems and making them smart.

The Nimbus Technology Gateway provides businesses with innovative software, hardware, technical research, development and innovation support. We are the largest IoT Applied Research Centre in Ireland with over 50 full-time researchers and engineers who deliver 70+ applied research projects per year.
The Nimbus Gateway acts as a resource to bring innovative business ideas to life, acting as an extension of the company’s research and development capability. As a result of the collaboration with Nimbus, many start-up companies in particular have received an increased level of funding, which can support research projects on a larger scale. Over 500 projects have been completed by the Nimbus Centre, in conjunction with almost 300 companies.

Our services cover the “full-stack” of digital technology these include communications (including 5G), UX/UI, Mixed Reality, Data Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, Cyber Security and more.

Predominantly these include, but are not limited to, Digital Transformation in Industry 5.0, Energy, Smart Cities, Health, Agri-tech and Water. Our client companies range from small Start-Ups to large multi-nationals and the scale of our projects varies from €1000 to €1,000,000. At Nimbus we are experts in grant funding applications in order to de-risk your projects. We work mainly with Enterprise Ireland funding however we work closely with and apply other funding schemes such as EPA / SEAI / EU etc.
