Letsbuyhealthcare is an Irish private healthcare booking platform and co-operative that enables individuals and employers to fund, access, choose and book private healthcare services through a new simple, flexible healthcare scheme.
Letsbuyhealthcare allows members to save for healthcare by purchasing Healthcare Coin vouchers, which can only be used to pay for healthcare. There are no annual premiums, age restrictions, risk profiling, or pre-existing condition barriers, setting it apart from traditional health insurance.
The process of selecting and self-funding private healthcare remains cumbersome for many consumers, lacking the efficiency and user-friendliness characteristic of modern internet-based services. Letsbuyhealthcare’s innovative portal and product suite are designed to empower members with control, choice, and value for their health expenditure, whilst ensuring robust security measures and community-driven benefits.
Technical assessment
Since 2024, Letsbuyhealthcare has made investments in Web3 blockchain technology, successfully integrating on-chain capabilities. In 2025, with the support of The Avalanche
Foundation, the company established a sovereign blockchain (Layer 1). ICS Gateway at Walton Institute collaborated with Letsbuyhealthcare to complete technical assessments and strategic reports which assisted and guided Letsbuyhealthcare’s technology development.
The next phase of development includes the implementation of four key Artificial Intelligence (AI) use cases:
- An automated Healthcare Coin voucher verification system
- An advanced fraud detection system
- A customer support chatbot, integrated with WhatsApp and based on Natural Language Processing (NLP)
