Developing an AI platform to support parents in the workplace

Platform development
Prima Star Ltd are seeking to develop and launch a platform in the HR Corporate Wellbeing Market that supports parent employees in the workplace – ParenTalk. They are developing this platform with the integration of an AI strategy around the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) for Voice AI which will enable parents/guardians to seek guidance and support for childhood developmental concerns and teenage challenges; receiving targeted evidenced based advice.
Prima Star in collaboration with ICS Technology Gateway at Walton Institute, SETU and ENTIRE European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) have teamed up to spearhead a parent platform; a transformative new initiative designed to support parents who are employed in the workplace.
Integration of AI strategy
The digital platform utilises artificial intelligence to address the challenges parents face. ParenTalk have engaged with the skills and expertise of the Mobile Ecosystem & Pervasive Sensing (MEPS) division of Walton Institute, especially around the areas of NLP, AI optimisation and digital architecture.
The partnership began with an initial scoping consultation with the ICS Technology Gateway team. Subsequently, a six week project phase began with one to one meetings between James 0’ Rourke, a Software Research Engineer in Walton Institute and ParenTalk Founder, Camilla Marks.

“The level of domain expertise and technical advice from Walton, really enabled me to figure out what technical features are required to pilot and commercialise the ParenTalk AI platform.“.

Following discussions, a platform development needs assessment and research overview were completed. These identified features classification, platform architecture, module design and suitable large language model (LLM) tools. This enabled ParenTalk to identify and implement next steps for commercialisation, funding and user experience.
Use cases and user experience elements are to be explored, identifying and selecting the features and requirements for a minimum viable demo of the ParenTalk platform. This will be developed as part of a HPSU Feasibility project.
