Upgrade of hardware and software architecture
Rivendell Technical Ltd, based in County Louth, currently provides firmware to marketing/promotional companies which integrate with production line printing equipment and generate unique codes for promotional incentives.
The company has an interest to merge three existing developed products to a single unit by upgrading hardware and software architecture to further increase and enhance the capabilities and sustainability features of the device.
Low level bench testing
Through 2 x Innovation Vouchers, CREDIT Technology Gateway conducted low level bench testing on core components and in turn provided insight to assist the company on low power Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and assembly. In the further iteration of the project, a bespoke and enhanced version of the firmware was developed to be ported from legacy hardware and hosted on to the new device

The company has obtained fully operational device with expanded capabilities in low power design, data processing, memory retention and encryption etc. while retaining the core functions of prior design. The devices are currently deployed on a number of production lines in the relevant industry.
