Marketing Executive: Applied Internet of Things (Applied-IoT) Technology Gateway Cluster

The Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network (TG – www.technologygateway.ie) works in partnership with Technological Universities and Institutes of Technology across Ireland to deliver innovation expertise and solutions for Irish industry.

The Applied-IoT Cluster is one of three clusters within the TG network that works with companies focused on delivering solutions involving the Internet of Things. The cluster, through six Technology Gateways provides access to over 150 research engineers and professionals in software, hardware, communications/networks, data analytics, control, UI/UX and trialling.

The main role of the Marketing Executive will be to increase the level of awareness between the members of the cluster and industry nationwide. Responsibilities will include working collaboratively to create and deliver a cluster marketing strategy, executing marketing campaigns across various social media platforms as well as representing the cluster at relevant events, tradeshows and conferences.

The Technology Gateway Programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027 and the Northern and Western Regional Programme 2021-2027.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants are required to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent post-grad qualification in addition to a minimum of 3 years experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license and own transportation.

Candidates ideally demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong proofreading and copy writing abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of social platforms such as LinkedIn and X
  • Strong skills in WordPress
  • Social media and video editing skills.
  • Ability to present and discuss technical concepts relating to IoT technologies with potential clients.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively on own initiative.
  • Must be able to travel to events and forums.

The following would be desirable:

  • Knowledge of industrial requirements in the IoT or industrial automation fields.
  • Knowledge of technological research strategies and trends.
  • Knowledge and experience of regional authorities and development agencies responsible for economic, social and cultural development such as Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta, and Local Enterprise Offices.
  • Familiarity with academic and industrial research environments.

Job Role and Description

The Applied-IoT Marketing Executive will be responsible for the following:

  • Promotion of the Applied-IoT Cluster, raising awareness of the cluster within industry nationwide.
  • Represent the cluster at relevant industry events, tradeshows and conferences across Ireland.
  • Working collaboratively with the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Network Marketing Manager to create and deliver a marketing strategy for the cluster.
  • Development of content creation for a cluster sub site, articles and social media in line with the cluster and network strategy.
  • Generate marketing campaigns across social media platforms.
  • Monitor performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Report regularly to the Applied IoT Cluster stakeholders.
  • Daily maintenance of the cluster’s current social media accounts.
  • Set up and daily management of a cluster LinkedIn profile
  • Prepare and maintain printed and digital promotional materials.
  • Research new marketing opportunities.
  • Liaise with printers and designers.

Salary: Initially, this position is for 36 months with potential for extension and starting salary is €63,958 per annum.

Travel and subsistence: Covered through expenses.

Hours of work: 35 hours/week.

Annual Leave: 27 days/annum.

Location: This post is based in Munster Technological University’s Kerry Campus; however visits will be made to the Applied-IoT Cluster member Gateways to assist with promotional activities and events. Mainly office based with a hybrid working environment possible.
