Automated Integrations: This research investigated the use of single administration documents in logistics, with a view on the various technological APIs associated with the authorities in Ireland, Europe and the UK. This research provided Expo with the relevant information to develop a high-level architecture to gather the required data for a centralised location within the Expo Communications solution.
Secure Communications: This part of the research looked at the secure processing of communications between various stakeholders and secure payments to relevant partiers. Regarding payment technologies the primary focus was on secure transactional software solutions.

The research received by Expo Communications assisted them in identifying the technologies that can be used in their solution. A high-level architecture was developed for the data of the SAD from various stakeholders throughout the process. Upon investigation of various API’s from authorities, it became apparent that many jurisdictions are updating their systems or replacing them with new systems for handling imports and exports of goods and therefore the Expo Communications solution had to be flexible to cater for those changes.
A full analysis was undertaken of various payment technologies available, with a view to build the payment solution completely within Expo. Simple isometric animation videos were also created for Expo Communications which can be continuously used to explain to companies how the Expo solution speeds up the international paperwork and protocols around importing and exporting goods.
This innovation voucher work gave Expo Communications a greater understanding of how to secure their solution. It also identified some technologies than can be used to gather the required information for the Single Administration Document within its product solution. The research aided the decision for the company on its next course of action in its solution development.
