VerdeLED came to Nimbus with an idea for using software to address a gap in the Environmental Training sector. One of the VerdeLED management had 10 years’ experience delivering Environmental Training solutions to industry and wanted to develop this into a new business. With current restrictions, a new opportunity arose to deliver Environmental Awareness training in an online format but with richer, interactive features than just simple text and video.
The main unknown for the client was how to engage users and design a product that was user-focussed, interactive and developed around their immediate industry needs.
Nimbus proposed a UX methodology to bring the idea to a realistic level. All design deliverables were validated through user research, namely, user interviews, workshops and finally a mock-up of the proposed prototype. Through the delivery of a series of workshops, the Nimbus team understood the critical goals, mental models and contexts of use of the target user groups.
This enabled us to design a mock-up of the prototype which gave a strong visual impact for VerdeLED on what the final product might look like. The UX inquiry also helped VerdeLED to understand industry users and management in a strategic and focussed manner which also aided “buy in” from potential clients to engage with the product.

The process of utilising an innovation voucher to source the immediate UX and software skills required for our project, helped to fast-track developing the Enware solution. VerdeLED are now on course to deliver the proposed solution for industry clients. The Nimbus UX team have been a huge help in enabling us to go positively forward with Enware.
